    Treatment of Saline Foundation of Main Canal of South Bank in Xinjiang

    There is the high saline sandy gravel foundation of main canal of South Bank in Xinjiang, which locates its end and 4.3km long. The saline matter as the soluble salt, insoluble salt forms exists in the soil, in which the soluble salt migrates easily under the action of water flow to result the karst depression disruption for foundation. Based on the survey, the replacement treatment is used successfully.

By monitoring of the whole construction process, its basic procedure, construction mixture ratio control, quality testing and control measurement in saline soil region are summarized, which is provided as the reference for similar engineering.

    Based on the deep foundation pit design and construction adjacent the pipe pile foundation, the surrounding environment, hydro\|geological conditions and other factors were comprehensively considered, the cast\|in\|situ bored pile was as the retaining structures, the rotary jet grouting pile was as the water resistant curtain and the prestressed internal support was in the foundation pit. There were some problems encountered during the design and construction, which were solved by analysis and some relevant experience were obtained, which provides reference for similar projects to provide experience in supporting.

    The dynamic characteristics of high slopes such as dynamic stresses, dynamic displacements and acceleration due to seismic loads are investigated by employing the dynamic FEM\|UEM coupling numerical analysis. These slopes comprised of different rock or soil mediums of Mian\|mao highway in Sichuan. The distribution of stresses and strains in the limit stability condition is obtained by using the strength reduction method, and the potential instability region of slope subjected to seismic loads is determined, which is as the reference for slope treatment of Mian\|mao highway and other similar engineerings.

    Slope Deformation Analysis Initiated by Rainfall

    The deformation monitoring data of the five monitor points in slope engineering is studied thoroughly, especially the influence of startup and reduce convergence time of slope deformation initiated by rainfall, and the deformation law is analyzed. Results show that both of the startup time and the reduce convergence time are obvious hysteresis, which lags the time section of heavy and intensive rainfall about 20 days. Furthermore, rainfall not only triggers the slope displacement's mutation, but also makes its obvious development trend.

    Influences of Frost Heaving on the Stability of Soil Nailing Wall Over Winter in Northern China

    The forst heaving process is the potential danger for the foundation support engineering over winter in northern China. Based on the soil nailing wall engineering over winter in Beijing, the influence of frost heave force to its stability was analyzed. Results show that the horizontal displacement of frost heave soil induced by frost heave is more than the one of weak frost heave soil, the change of soil nail's tension induced by frost heave is more than the one of weak frost heave soil.

    The slurry is made from the abandoned muddy clay as main filled material combined with the proper water and cement. Its fluidity and mechanical property after conservation is studied, in which the proper ratio of slurry in the underground abandoned pipe is also studied. Based on the indoor test, the slurry is form in the seepage tank by pump, after conservation, its mechanical property is tested in situ, the feasibility of prepared slurry in the underground abandoned pipe is analyzed, then the proper ratio is suggested.

    Slope Stability Analysis Based on Finite Element Method with Tabu Search

    Compared with the limit equilibrium method for analyzing slope stability, the finite element method (FEM) has its own advantage when it combined with Tabu search. Because of their combination, the safety factor of slope is calculated meanwhile the most dangerous sliding surface is also determined, in which it reflects not only the advantage of FEM for its numerical analysis but also the identification of limit equilibrium, particularly the global searching ability of Tabu search is fully utilized. The example shows its feasibility, which implies the finite element method with Tabu search has the bright future of application for analyzing slope stability.

    Physical Simulation of High Slope Deformation Failure Induced by Strong Seismicity

    A high slope belongs to the Dujiangyan to Wenchuan highway section of the national road 317, located at the right bank of Minjiang River, about 3km from Wenchuan County. The slope was local collapsed in the earthquake and threatened the road's security. The high slope deformation failure under earthquake is studied and analyzed by the physical simulation, the conclusion is that the response of slope surface is significantly larger than the ones on the bottom and internal in model, the reaction intensity is increased with the increasing of slope heights and slopes in general. Its failure type under strong seismicity is sliding, in which the massive body turns to pieces and debris, its geomechanical model is the slip\|fracturing.

    Study of Influence Factor for Elevated Pile Caps under Horizontal Loads

    The 3-D model is founded by finite element method for elevated pile cap, which consists of sheet piles in first row and square piles in second row. The influent factors of displacement on top of pile and flexure moment of pile is analyzed, such as the change of soil resistance coefficient, pile length, pile's length in ground, pile diameter etc. The result shows that the pile's flexural rigidity increases and the horizontal displacement reduces by increasing the pile's section area. It is effective for the readjusting of flexure moment in piles between two rows by increasing of flexural rigidity of square piles in second row, because it is more reliable and uniform for moment distribution of the elevated pile cap.

    As the part of offshore platform, the suctional bucket foundation bears not only the vertical loading induced by the weight of offshore platform structure and itself but also torsion shear loadsing induced by wave and wind. However, there is no a commonly\|acceptable calculation mode and analytical method for the torsional shear of suctional bucket foundation. According to the transversely anisotropy of soft clay, the bearing performance of bucket foundation is studied under the condition of tortional shear loading by FEM, in which a series of changing parameters are compared calculation, then the amount of calculated results is analyzed systematically, their numerical calculation results and analysis are provided as the reference for engineering design.

Based on the graphics and practical data the micro\|zoning of different karst development degree is evaluated, which provides reference for engineering optimization design.

The current domestic EPC principal of geotechnical engineering development in the two modes is summarized and its prospect is discussed, its difficulties and obstacles during the development of geotechnical engineering contracting are analyzed, its development trend is pointed out that the Geotechnical engineering EPC contract is a geotechnical soil specialization, socialization, and integration. Finally, with a tank\|based investigation, design, construction, monitoring of general contracting projects as an example, the superiority of geotechnical engineering EPC contract is analyzed by design optimizing, over 60% of construction funds and 50% construction period saving.

According to Fujiachong tunnel engineering of Yiba highway in Hubei province, based on the TSP advanced geological forecast, its basic principle and method are introduced and its application is evaluated. The result is proved during the construction, which indicates its reliability.

According to Nada tunnel engineering of YunGui railway in Guangxi province, based on the correct geology forecast, the basic principle and method of TSP is introduced. And its application effect is discussed. Then by compared the forecast results with the actual engineering, the method of TSP in advance geology forecast is proved reliably.

    Based on the view point of the uniform reinforcement along entire circular section combined with partial uniform reinforcement. There is a new method to calculate reinforcement for R.C. Retaining Piles with circular section, in which the function table and the correction formula are included. The results shows that the application of new method the steel bar is saved about 14~31% with the advantage of uniform reinforcement alone entire circle.
