    Engineering Protection Study of Layered Rock Mass High-cut Slope in the Three Gorges Reservoir

    According to the characteristics and distribution of layered rock mass high-cut slope, the four failure models was proposed, which included weathering erosion of slope, erosion of slope toe, consequent sliding and collapse. Then the related protection was proposed, which was as the reference for the guideline of layered rock mass high\|cut slope in the Three Gorge Reservoir.

    There was the longitudinal crack occured in the highway subgrade shortly after the opening to traffic. The cause of longitudinal crack was found out based on the extra geotechnical investigation, subgrade deformation monitoring and crack extension monitoring, in which the high compressible soft soil under subgrade soil, the poor filling material and the poor quality of construction were main causes, then the related measurement was proposed to improve the integral stability and durability of embankment.

    The engineering property of the flyash foundation in Zhengzhou was introduced and the quality of PHC pile was tested by the static load test. According to the p~s curve in the static load test, the bearing capacity of pile on the flyash foundation was studied. Then its feasibility on the flyash foundation and the rationality of the standard value of ultimate lateral resistance of pile on the flyash layer were discussed.

    To obtain the distribution pattern of earth pressure acting on the supporting structures in sandy cobble ground, the in\|situ monitoring data of earth pressure from a typical deep foundation pit in sandy cobble ground in Chengdu was analyzed. Results show that the distribution pattern of actual earth pressure is non\|linear in sandy cobble ground. The value of actual earth pressure of the range of three meters on the top of pile is between the classical Rankine's active earth pressure and the static earth pressure and the one of the other parts is far less than classical Rankine's active earth pressure. The influence between the horizontal displacement and the earth pressure on the ring beam and excavation surface is very little. Then the rationality of this occurred situation was analyzed. It has important reference value for supporting system's design of the similar deep foundation pit.

    The water diversion works from Yangtze River to Hanjiang River was the giant main canal and one part of mid\|route of South to North Water Diversion and there was the three level ship lock at the entrance of navigation engineering, which was located at the right side of Hanjiang River in Gaoshibei town, Qianjiang city and connected with the giant main canal. The stratum and permeability property of construction site of Gaoshibei ship lock engineering was obtained by in\|situ pumping test and the parameter of pumping well such as well structure was selected, then the deep well dewatering scheme was proposed, which was provided as a reference for similar dewatering engineering of ship lock foundation.

The cause, property, state of landslide and the characteristics of landslide mass factor were analyzed. The potential slide surface and its mechanics parameters were determined. The remedy was proposed and used successfully in the landslide remedy engineering.

    Traffic-Load-Induced Vibration of Highway Pavement Structure

    In order to analyze vibration features of highway pavement structure induced by vehicle traffic loading, a coupling model for laminated pavement structure and underlying ground dynamic interaction subject to distributed moving loading was developed by employing a hybrid method of the 2.5 dimensional finite elements and thin layer elements. The rules of vibrated acceleration of pavement surface and the stress distribution features of pavement surface, base and subgrade were heavily investigated when vehicle load passed through, in which the vehicle speed, load vibration frequency, structure form and material of pavement and modulus of underlying ground were considered. The results shows the vehicle speed and its vibration frequency are of great influnence to the acceleration response of pavement structure, meanwhile the stiffer the pavement material is , the lower the pavement structure is, which means the performance of pavement can be improved by choosing the proper material.

    The chemical grouting material is used as many fields as road maintenance, bridge, tunnel, underground building and hydraulic structure because of its advantages such as low viscosity, high groutability, high permeability, adjustable curing time and soil consolidation to fill concrete cracks after slurry setting, by which the mechanical property of grouted soil layer or stratum is improved. The application development of grouting material both of domestic and abroad, then its development tendency is forecast.

Discusses the RPC concrete hollow thin-wall piers in railway bridge in the application of the stiffness, puts forward the reasonable design scheme and technical measures.

    Comparison of Soil Dielectric Constant-Water Content Models

    The Time Domain Reflectometry(TDR) used to estimate soil water content was based on the relationship of soil dielectric constant\|water content. Errors of Topp model, Mixing model and Diffusion model were analyzed with test results. Test results show that parameters of Mixing model and Diffusion model are too randomly to be determined, but parameters of Topp model with neglecting the forms of soil component can be used in engineering with proper revising in despite of the error in the model.

    The surrounding soil mass was disturbed by the construction of urban shallow buried tunnel, then there was the differential settlement and collapse of surface, in which the influence of its stress pass was obvious, meanwhile the ground traffic and architectures were also disturbed. Therefore the soil layer deformation induced by the stress path of tunnel construction was studied by using ANSYS to simulate the excavation sequences of different tunnels. Based on the tunnel engineering in Wuhan, the deformation of disturbed soil was analyzed and its regularity was obtained.

    Analysis on Bearing Capacity of Bucket Foundation in Soft Soil Ground under Horizontal Load

    The bucket foundation is an advanced technology in coastal and offshore engineering recently. The three\|dimension finite element model of bucket foundation was established by using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS and the limit equilibrium theory. The horizontal bearing capacity of bucket foundation and the distributions of earth pressure along outside of bucket foundation under horizontal load were studied by using the displacement controlled method, in which some factors were considered such as soil characteristics and length to diameter ratio of bucket foundation. Results show that the bucket foundation rotates with the center of one\|third bucket length to the bottom, meanwhile the earth pressure is maximum outside of the bucket at this point. And the influence of soil characteristics is not greater than that of length to diameter ratio on the horizontal bearing capacity of bucket foundation.

    The embedded depth of retaining structure of pit satisfies not only the anti-heaving stability of pit bottom but also anti-overturning stability of retaining structure. Based on codes, the calculating difference of embedded depth was analyzed with the some methods including elastic method, arc-slippage method, arc-slippage method considered the horizontal brace force and empirical law of the code. Then the acceptable range of embedded depth was proposed considered the discreteness of soil mechanical property.

    Based on the monitoring of deep horizontal displacement in soft soil subgrade with high embankment in southwest region, there were some problems to monitoring its deep horizontal displacement by the conventional method. According to its characteristics such as high embankment, low bearing capacity and the different lateral deformation, some improving measurement were proposed including the location chosen of inclinometer inbuilt, backfilling of inclinometer hole, treatment of deflection and twist, error control, compatible deformation analysis, which was as the preference for similar engineering in southwest region.

     In order to avoid the geological casualty induced by the development of karst for bridge pile foundation construction, the ground penetrating radar(GPR), a new electromagnetic method and its basic principles and techniques and the selection of correlative parameters in detection were introduced, was used to study the location and scale of karst caves by point measurement based on an actual project. Then the ground penetrating radar image was analyzed. Study showed that the location and scale of karst cave under the bridge pile foundation was detected by GPR, which was provided as the reference for its treatment.
