    Technology of Support and Water-Seal Design of Deep Foundation Pit in Deep Silty Fine Sand Layer

    Based on the engineering, the support selection, water\|seal design of deep foundation pit in deep silty fine sand layer was introduced, in which the curtain for cutting off water was improved and the isolation pile was set to make sure the support success in island of river center by pile\|anchor system. It showed the engineering was secure, the construction period was shortened and the cost was lowered.

    The deep foundation pit was located in the CBD region in Zhujiang Newtown in Guangzhou, which had the following characteristics, the high excavation depth, the poor property of soil and the complex around environment. The general situation and design of this deep foundation pit was introduced, which included two support structures: the manual hole digging pile and prestressed anchor retaining structure and the manual hole digging pile and concrete internal bracing support structure, and the Finite element method analysis was used to calculate the effect of manual hole digging pile and prestressed anchor retaining structure. The rationality and reliability of design was verified by the comparison between FEM analysis data and monitoring data.

    Taipingxi slope was the high slope in front of dam in the Three Gorges Reservoir. If it was unstable, the new built Taipingxi migrant settlement would be threantened. According to its engineering geological conditions, it was divided into several zones by geological survey and its stability was analyzed, then different treatments were proposed based on different characteristics of different divided zones. After the treatment, it was stable. The engineering was provided as reference for similar engineering.

    Based on the geological conditions of Jianghan Road Station of Wuhan metro line No.2, there are two possible supporting schemes for deep foundation pits, the combination of row piles with diaphragm wall and the diaphragm wall only. In order to select the best supporting scheme for the foundation pit, the two schemes are compared and analyzed by the finite element method. The conclusion shows if the combination scheme is used, the deformation of the enclosure structure is unsymmetrical seriously, and the deformation of diaphragm is large. However, if the other is used, the deformation of the enclosure structure is reasonable and meets the requirement of code standard. Therefore, the diaphragm wall is selected. This study is provided as references for similar projects.

    Discussion of Consolidation Drainage Measures of Soft Ground

    Two consolidation drainage measures were discussed from the viewpoints of increasing drainage channel and discharging consolidated water as soon as possible. The one was the combination of plastic drainage plate, sand cushion and geogrid, the other was the combination of plastic drainage plate and vertical drainage pipe. Monitoring results showed that the consolidation settlement was 60~80 cm during construction. It was the new technology of the vertical drainage pipe in the consolidation drainage measures.

    Landslide Stability Evaluation in Fangxian

    The geological environment and basic characteristics of landslide in Fangxian was invested by using field geology survey and drilling, the shear strength parameter of soil in slide zone was obtained by using laboratory test, engineering geological analogy and inversion analysis, then the stability of typical cross section of landslide was analyzed. Results showed that under the natural condition, the slope is on creeping state and its stability coefficient is lower safety coefficient, which is lack of stability state; under the heavy rain and seismic conditions, its stability coefficient is lower 1.0, which is on unstable state and should be treated.

    During the embankment construction of the Dong yi\|dao's viaduct bridge of Ninghuai expressway, there was the field test to study the effect of reinforced earth in reducing the earth pressure of abutment. Test results showed that the distribution of earth pressure along the height of abutment is not smooth quadratic curve, but rather an irregular S\|shaped curve. In order to eliminate various factors effect on test accuracy in construction field and find out reasons of measurement error, it is suggest that is expressed as increase of earth pressure changes with the filling height.

    Time-dependent effect of bearing capacity of driven pile in saturated soft soil has been known in the engineering practice effectively. Combined with in situ load test results, the mechanism of time-dependent effect on bearing capacity of driven pile in saturated soft soil is analyzed. The results showed that the structure strength of the disturbed soil around the pile is regained with the time increasing and the lateral friction of pile is also increased, which shows time-dependent effect.

    CFG pile is a kind of high strength pile with good adhesiveness which is the mixture of cement, gravel, stone chips or sand, fly ash with water, it is combined with soil between piles and cushion into the composite foundation, in which the bearing performance of soil between piles is fully used and the load is transferred to the deep stratum by the cooperation between piles and soil between piles. The CFG pile composite foundation has good technical performance and economic effects. Based on the engineering, its application is introduced in ground treatment.

The settlement correction coefficient   was obtained by using the layering summation method, so it was use to calculate the settlement of CFG pile composite foundation under embankment load, which could provide a useful reference for the similar engineering.

Based on JC3 segment of Jichang Road tunnel engineering in Xiamen, the propagation of vibration and its influence for ground surface were analyzed by in situ monitoring, then the blasting plan was optimized, in which the influence of vibration to ground surface was controlled.

    The Qinggaoni from the mausoleum of Yue Kindom was studied to improve the engineering quality through some tests such as liquid limit test, plastic limit test, the compaction test. Tests showed that it is silt and its water content is 16.7% when it is the maximum dry density. Tests also showed that the compaction coefficient of backfilled Qinggaoni is above 0.90. which implies its compaction coefficient is satisfied with strength requirement.

    There are indoor artificial rainfall experiments in self\|designed model under different rainfall intensity (26 mm/h, 51 mm/h, 68 mm/h) to study the mechanism of loose deposit slope stability in the debris region. The results showed that the soil loss under low rainfall intensities of 26mm/h is least, and the failure mode of slope is slope surface erosion; but under high rainfall intensities of 51 and 68mm/h, both failure modes of slope are slope surface erosion and gully erosion, and flowslide is the main failure mode, which are correspond to the mutation point of curve of cumulative soil loss vs time. Intermittent debris flow is formed under high rainfall intensities of 68 mm/h.
