Abstract: The stability of surrounding rock was studied during the benching tunneling construction period under the complicated geological condition through the on\|site monitoring of settlement of vault, convergence of surrounding rock, pressure of surrounding rock and internal force of steel arch based on Taining tunnel. The method, analysis and conclusion of research was as the reference in design, construction, monitoring and further theoretical research on tunnel engineering under similar condition.
