Abstract:  In order to avoid the geological casualty induced by the development of karst for bridge pile foundation construction, the ground penetrating radar(GPR), a new electromagnetic method and its basic principles and techniques and the selection of correlative parameters in detection were introduced, was used to study the location and scale of karst caves by point measurement based on an actual project. Then the ground penetrating radar image was analyzed. Study showed that the location and scale of karst cave under the bridge pile foundation was detected by GPR, which was provided as the reference for its treatment.
