Abstract: The oilgas pipeline tunnels has the characteristics of small cross sectional area, complicated loading conditions and different supporting liner compared with the conventional tunnels for railways and highways. This paper presents a case history of the oilgas pipeline tunnel analysis. The plane strain finite element analysis models are established on the rock mas. The geostress, displacement, deformation and internal force of the tunnel are analyzed. The factor of safety and the structural gap of the supporting liner are obtained. The rock mass supporting method is therefore determined and verified. It is concluded that the finite element method could appropriately characterize the stress distribution of the tunnel structure and it can be used in the safety evaluation of the safety of the second lining support.
