Abstract: This paper presents a case study of the analysis of a highway cut of a syncline rock slope. The rock anchored slope was evaluated with two dimensional plane strain finite element model using MIDAS GTS commercial software. The stability of the rock slope before and after the rock anchor reinforcement is analyzed based on the strength reduction method. The displacement, plasticity zone and the factor of safety changes before and after the reinforcement are presented. The effect of length, spacing and inclination angle of the rock anchors on the stability of the slope is evaluated. The relationship between the factor of safety of the slope and the various affecting components are also investigated.
