Abstract: This paper presents a case history of deep excavation support in silty sand soils by using a flexible retaining wall with prestressed ground anchors. The seepage stability and retaining wall strength aspects of the flexible wall are examined and the role of the ground anchor in the dewatering is also discussed. The design of flexible wall and the ground anchors are also verified by the project monitored data. This project also demonstrates the advantages of the cost effectiveness and the construction schedule of the flexible wall with prestressed ground anchors.
