Abstract: The inclined supporting system has received more and more applications in the large deep excavation projects. This paper presents the numerical analysis results of an inclined support system with pile cap by using commercial software ABAQUS. The results of the inclined supporting system are also compared with the results of the conventional horizontal strut system. The stresses in the two different supporting system are analyzed. Further, the stresses in the soil mass, ground subsidence, the bottom heave as well as the lateral deflection of the pile are also compared in details. The mechanism of the inclined structures and the advantages of this system in the control of the pile lateral deflection and the ground subsidence are also presented.
