Abstract: The uplift resistance and the deformation characteristics of the castinplace concrete pile with enlarged base have been extensively analyzed and a wider application of this type of pile in the buildings and other structures is observed recently. However, due to the deformation complicity of enlarge based piles; factors that might affect the performance are not very clear. The performance of this type of pile cannot be theoretically modeled so that the application of this enlarge based pile is also restrained. This paper presents a case history of enlarge based pile analysis. Based on the current research results, the load transfer and bearing capacity characteristics are analyzed. This results prove a better understanding of enlarge based piles.
