Abstract: This paper presents a case history of the mitigation of the excessive deformation of a fill slope for the electricity transformation station. The entire fill embankment was monitored for the deformation during the construction. The observation results indicated that the worst deformation was at the Segment No. DE. The factors that attributed to the excessive deformation and the potential failure modes are discussed in the paper. The stability of the fill embankment was evaluated and the emergency mitigation measures are also provided.
