Abstract: This paper discusses the potential adverse consequences of the defected slideresistant cast-in-place concrete piles. Factors that attribute to the pile defections during the pile installations and different methods of strengthening the defective areas are proposed in the paper. Based on a successful case history of repairing the case-in-case concrete piles in Jindoushan Project, the fracture grouting method is approved to be an effective solution.
