Abstract: Parameters that required in two nonlinear elastic models: Tangent elastic modulustangent Poisson's ratio and Tangent elastic modulus and tangent bulk modulus are discussed in this paper based on a series of consolidated drained triaxial test results on the soil samples from a tailing dam. Methods of obtaining these parameters and the application of these parameters in the tailing dam projects have also discussed.
