True Triaxial Shear Testing on a Guangzhou Clay

Abstract: A series of true triaxial shear tests on undisturbed Guangzhou clay under different cell pressures and intermediate principal stress coefficients are performed on a true triaxial apparatus. The stress-strain, strength and deformation characteristics of the undisturbed clay under the consolidated undrained state are evaluated. The deviatoric stress, pore water pressure, stress ratio as well as the effective principal stress ratio with the coefficient of variation of principal stress are also studied.
