Application of MIDAS GTS Analysis in the Excavation of a Shallow Buried Tunnel under the Unsymmetrical Pressure

Abstract:  This paper presents the finite element analysis results of the excavation progress of a shallow buried tunnel under the unsymmetrical pressure. The tunnel is part of the intercity of ChangshaZhuzhouXiangtan project in Hunan. The stressstrain properties of the surrounding rock mass and the deformation characteristics of the ground surface above the tunnel are studied. The analytical results are also compared with the observed data.
