Abstract: This paper presents a case study of an application of the layered dynamic compaction method in a 30 meters thick fill soil improvement project. The improved fills would be used as the foundation soil for the multistory buildings. The soil improvement site was instrumented and monitored during the construction. The principles of the layered dynamic compaction method are summarized based on the collected data. The key factors that impaction the effect of the layered dynamic compaction method is also presented.
