Abstract: In order to study the mechanical behavior of the steelconcrete composite structures, the theoretical analyses and comparisons are performed on steel structures, concrete structures and composite structures respectively. Three structural design plans for a typical highrise residential building are compared. The results indicate that, under the same design conditions, the concrete structure has the largest stiffness and the steel structure has the smallest stiffness and the composite structure is intermediate. For the torsional capacity, the steel structure is the best, and the composite structure is still between the concrete and the steel structures.
