Abstract: Pre--stressed and thin--walled box girders receive increasingly wider applications in the bridge construction industry due to their esthetic in appearance, high cross sectional moment of inertia, excellent shear transfer performance and the low fabrication and construction costs. However, due to their inclined web, there are some unique situations that are different from those from the plumb web girders might be frequently encountered during the girder fabrications. This paper introduces the construction techniques of the prestressed and thinwalled box birders in the construction of a viaduct for the South Section of Wuhan City Link Project.
