Abstract: The office building for Innovation Base of Huaneng Group is located at the C89 block in the south of the future Science and Technology Zoning Area, Changping District of Beijing. It is at the south of bank of Wenyu River and south side of North Seven Avenue. The east unit of this building is a mixed structure (the top four floors at Bays 6-15 and Bays 6-19 are column supported). Due to its irregular structural shape and the complicated loading scheme, the seismic performance of the key structural connection components, such as, the connection between the cantilever truss and the shear wall core; the joints between the spherical office and the supporting truss; are analyzed with the elastoplastic approach using ABAQUS finite element software. The results indicate that, under the design seismic intensity, except for the local plastic zones occurred at the key joints, the overall joints are typically within the elastic zone. The analytical results meet the seismic requirement of nonyielding structural components.
