Abstract: Geotechnical conditions of the East Slope in the Wuhu nuclear power station are analyzed in detail based on the topographical, physiognomic, lithology, geological structure, groundwater and potential unfavorable geologic conditions. The stability of this high cut slope is evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively by various methods such as engineering geology evaluation, stereographic projection analysis, and limit equilibrium analysis.  The slope excavation design is optimized from these extensive analyses.
