Abstract: The deep excavation receives more and more attentions with the development of the urban construction. This paper presents the numerical analysis using FLAC3D on a deep excavation in Chengdu City. The stress characteristics of ground anchors and soldier piles are studies and compared with the pobserved stress in the rebars and the horizontal displacement. The results indicate that the walers have strong constrains on the deformation of the soldier piles. The constrains induce the shear bending moment at pile head and affect the global stress field in the soldier pile; The bending moment in pile increases with the excavation depth; The location of ground anchors has significant effect on the moment in the pile; The maximum deformation along the soldier pile is at the middle and its location is lowered with the increase excavation depth.
