Abstract: Due to the mountainous terrain with intensive river incision effect in south Zhejiang area, there are numerous slopes with sliding hazardous. With the trigger of heavy rainfalls, landslides are frequently occurred recently and resulted in the significant human life and property loss. Therefore, it is imperative to properly stabilize these slopes. This paper presents the results of analytical results on the Lidong Landslides by using both limit equilibrium and transfer coefficient methods. Based on the characteristics of the engineering geology, stability analysis results and the local engineering practice, a comprehensive landslide prevention and mitigation method is proposed: Antisliding shafts, unloading at the driving area, surface protection using vegetation, cracking sealing and the drainage ditches at top of the potential sliding body.
