Stability Evaluations of the Surrounding Rock Mass at the Under-cut- Area in an Underground Cavern

Abstract: An underground rock cavern in southern Sichuan was overexcavated during the construction. This paper presents the evaluation results of rock mass qualities at side walls and arches based on the site investigations and desk studies. The stability of the surrounding rock mass is also analyzed.
