Abstract: Two cost effective, common and safe deep excavation support systems were used in a deep excavation deformation control in Beijing. The soldier pile and lagging wall with ground anchors as well as soil nailed wall with soldier pile and ground anchors were selected based on the adjacent conditions of the excavation areas, deformation requirements; construction as well as post construction loading conditions. During the construction, various construction elements were monitored. The deformations in the soldier pile, amount of soil excavated and the ground anchors were used for the overall deep excavation control. The results indicated that total deformation control were successful.
