Abstract: This study examines the shield tunnel between Xinyuan Road Station and Dongcheng South Station in Dongguan as the engineering background. Using field monitoring data and statistical analysis methods, it systematically investigates the correlation characteristics between six key EPB shield tunneling parameters and four categories of granite strata with different degrees of weathering. The results show that: (1) The degree of granite weathering is a major factor influencing shield tunneling parameters, and each stratum exhibits distinct parameter patterns. (2) Within granite formations, the total thrust of the shield machine shows a strong linear correlation with the reciprocal of cutterhead penetration; the advance rate and cutterhead penetration also exhibit a strong linear correlation; meanwhile, cutterhead torque and chamber pressure show no obvious correlation. The findings provide guidance for the reasonable selection and optimization of tunneling parameters for similar shield machines operating in granite residual soil strata.
