Abstract: Rapid urban development in China has led to an increasing number of high-rise and super-high-rise buildings, accompanied by a growing volume of deep excavation projects. The influence of foundation-pit excavation on adjacent structures has therefore become a critical concern. Based on the design, site investigation, and monitoring data from a foundation-pit support project in Shenzhen, a three-dimensional numerical model of the pit and surrounding buildings/structures was established using MIDAS/GTS. The model was used to simulate and analyze deformation and potential damage to nearby buildings, and the numerical results were compared with field monitoring data. The findings indicate that excavation induces varying degrees of displacement, settlement, and tilting in adjacent buildings. Greater excavation depth and shorter distance to the pit correspond to more pronounced building deformation. The numerical results satisfy relevant code requirements, and the data provide useful reference value for subsequent design, construction, and monitoring work.
