Abstract:  In-situ pressuremeter tests were conducted the metro station site in Tianjin City. The initial pressure, creep pressure and limit pressure along with their deformation were obtained. These values were used to derive the atrest earth pressure (K0) and coefficient of lateral subgrade reaction (Kh). The test derived values were also compared with the suggested values based on soil classifications. It is concluded that the pressuremeter can be used to determine the lateral atrest earth pressure and the coefficient of lateral subgrade reaction, but the measured values are different from the conventional estimated values.
