Abstract: The stability risk hazard assessment of the ground surface above the abandoned mine is complicated and factors might result in the collapse. In this paper, the collapse process is numerically simulated by a commercial software FLAC and the probability of collapse of the ground is predicted using comprehensive analytical methods. Mitigation methods of the collapsed ground are also proposed in the paper. The results indicate that the collapse hazard of ground above the abandoned mines is mainly contributed by the mining methods. The stability risk evaluation method proposed in the paper can provide a relatively accurate risk prediction for the remediation.
