Rock Fall Simulation Study and Mitigation Measures

Abstract: Rock fall could repeatedly occur at the same location so that the installation of preventive measures at appropriate areas are very important.  The research on the rock fall mechanism requires the accurately simulation of the trajectory of the falling rock for the minimization of the potential rock fall hazard. The falling rock trajectories with different weights on the same slope are simulated by the ROCFALL software. The limits of the rock fall hazards can be estimated by the observation of the falling rock trajectory, kinematic energy and the rebound height. The preventive devices can also be appropriately installed by on the study.
