Abstract: The requirements for the bearing capacity and the deformation control of large and highraised buildings are usually higher, The traditional piled foundation usually are required to penetrate the soft soil layer and to transfer the load to hard soil layer with higher bearing capacity. Therefore, the treatment depth is deeper results in a high construction cost.  The grid shaped soilcement mixingcolumn foundation can provide lateral restraints on the shallow soil underneath the foundation and results in an increase in bearing capacity of the composite soils and rigidity of the foundation. The treatment depth can significantly be reduced. This paper presents the stress and deformation properties of the grid shaped soil cement mixing soil columns. The analysis of the bearing capacity and the settlement of the composite ground is also introduced.
