Abstract: TheXiulingzhongcun landslide is located at the slope area of Baimupu gully in Yangbi River Basin of Lancang River watershed. The landside is a first time occurred slide caused by the tectonic erosion in the deep incised mountain valleys. A detailed geological background and landslide characteristics investigation was performed and the limit equilibrium analysis was conducted. The slide shear strength parameters were obtained. The analytical results concluded that heavy precipitation and the earthquake are the major triggering factors resulting the landslide. The site reconnaissance indicated that the slide is a typical heavy rain induce shallow failure. The caisson and surface drainage structure were used to remediate the failure.
