Abstract: The building destress problems along the subway alignment due to the metro construction receive more and more attentions in recent years. The magnitude of the ground subsidence was quantified using Peck’s observational method and validated with the observed data for a site specific location. Using the settlement curve as the input, the three stories sing span and double spans frame structures were evaluated with a commercial software ANSYS. The cracking moment was used as an index in the structural safety evaluation. Therefore, the structural safety can be quantified with settlement magnitude. The site specific evaluation concluded that the building structures were safe under the input ground subsidence values.
