Abstract: With the rapid development of highway construction, soft soils are frequently encountered especially in coastal areas of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Therefore, it is of great academic value and social benefit to improve the existing settlement calculation and forecast method, so that the estimated settlement is close to the actual measurement. Fox's onedimensional large strain consolidation model (CS2) was utilized to estimate the embankment settlement of the south bank connecting line of the bridge form Jiaxing to Shaoxing. The improved CS2 model accounts for the nonlinear change of parameters during the process of consolidation. The simulated roadbed consolidation settlement was validated by monitored settlement.
