Abstract: The construction of large deep excavations become more and more frequent with the development of utilizing the underground space in the urban area. With relative long construction duration, adverse effects from the external and adjacent environment on the large deep exaction projects are inevitable. This is especially true for the prolonged precipitation season in Southern China, the stability of the excavation is often affected by the rainfalls. Based on the construction monitoring data, this paper presents the effect of the long duration rainfall and the leakage among drilled piles on the stability of the excavation and adjacent buildings.
