Abstract: The transition of the supporting system from anchored walls is an very important topic when the retrievable ground anchors are using in the supporting of deep excavations. This paper presents a case history of a deep excavation in sandy gravel soils. The deep excavation construction sequence and the ground anchor retrieval as well as the substructure construction are simulated with Finite Element Software MIDAS-GTS. The deformation of the walls is monitored and the results indicate a good consistent between the simulated and observed data.
