Abstract: The settlement prediction of municipal landfills is a major geotechnical issue associated with the sanitary trash process. It is important to conduct the researches on the deformation characteristics of the municipal landfill site. This paper studies the long term settlements of a landfill in Erfeishan of Wuhan during the daily operation as well as the final landfill covers been placed. The results indicate that settlement rate could be as high as 100%.
