Abstract: In comparison to finite element method, meshfree method is independent of the mesh quality. Reproducing Kernel Particle Method was used to study the cause a typical landslide. The safety factor was obtained by the strength reduction method, and compared with the limit equilibrium method. The results of meshfree method yield more straight forward slope deformation at failure that is close to the actual field monitoring.
