Abstract: To ensure the safety operation, the deep excavations adjacent to the subway metro needs to impose a strict deformation requirement in the design and construction. This paper presents a case history of the deep excavation support of the west tower of Baidu International Building. The engineering and design of the building are briefed and the construction monitoring data are analyzed. The results indicate that support selection was adequate and the support scheme is also cost effective.
