Case Studies of the Axial Load Tests of RockBearing Bored Piles Using SelfBalancing Method

Abstract: This paper presents case histories of applying the selfbalancing load test method to the rockbearing bored piles. The ultimate axial capacity of the rockbearing bored piles can be estimated from the plate load tests on the bedrock. A total of 14 selfbalancing load test results on the rockbearing bored piles are documented. It is concluded that the estimating of the ultimate axial capacity of the rock bearing bored piles using selfbalancing load test method is reasonable.
