Abstract: This paper presents a case history of the deep excavations for WuhanCenter foundation construction. The strength and stability aspects of the silty fine sand within the soldier piles in the excavated area within the nested deep excavations under the dewatering conditions are evaluated. The impact of the soil moisture content and clayey lenses on the properties of the insitu silty fine sand is examined. The conclusions of the similar excavation under the dewatering conditions are reached.
