Abstract: This study examines a slopecollapse remediation project along a municipal roadway in Wuhan, focusing on failures driven by shallow sliding and archedfacing instability resulting from drainage system malfunction. To address these issues, a comprehensive treatment framework integrating slope stabilization, drainage optimization, and protective enhancement were developed. A combined reinforcement system—comprising grouted perforated pipes and reinforced-concrete vertical rib beams—was implemented to strengthen the collapsed soil mass and underlying cavity zones. This configuration significantly improved the mechanical integrity and global stability of the slope. Concurrently, interception and drainage ditches at the slope crest and intermediate platforms were rehabilitated and engineered to ensure effective diversion of surface runoff. Additional surface drainage holes were installed, forming a multi-layered waterproofing and drainage network that mitigates pore-water pressure buildup. The damaged arched facing was reconstructed and integrated with grid-grass vegetation, achieving a synergistic balance between structural protection and ecological restoration. Field monitoring indicates that the proposed approach effectively arrested slope deformation and ensured the long-term operational safety of the roadway. The findings provide valuable technical guidance and practical reference for similar urban road slope-collapse mitigation projects.
