Abstract: The large diameter antilandslide bored pile is a conventional measure in a landslide remediation design. Under the influence of various industrial design codes, technical documents, as well as construction experience, the diameters of these piles are between 2 and 3 meters with a embedment depth of 1/3 to 1/2 of the pile length below the potential slip surface. With the recent development of ground anchor systems, discussions have been raised regarding the required bored pile diameter and the embedment depth. This paper presents a case history of a remediation using small diameter antilandslide bored piles and ground anchors. Design principles of the remediation work are also introduced.
