Abstract: The special wharf supporting for the 2×5 000 T new dry clinker cement production line is in the nearshore area of Sulawesi Utara of Indonesia. The complicated subsurface soil conditions consist of soft soil, saturated sand and soft rock. The physical and mechanical properties of saturated sand are analyzed and evaluated by test boring, in-situ testing and laboratory tests. And the liquefaction potential of the saturated sand layer is therefore determined. The engineering results provide a reference for the study of the complex foundation soil characteristics and the selection of foundation system in overseas water transportation projects. As a large-scale overseas project, this project promotes the export of Chinese technical standards, which is of great significance in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiatives.
