Abstract: This paper introduces a research result of new methods improving the inland saline soils. Based on the special characteristics of the inland saline soils and the comparison of different soil improvement methods, three methods are found to have both the technical and the cost advantages: geotextile wrapped vibro stone columns, cement slurry in the impervious geotextile tube and the stone piers formed by the dynamic compaction. The geotextile wrapped stone columns cement columns have strong resistant to the corrosive soil environment. Whereas, the dynamic compaction formed stone piers have a good result in treating the super soft saline soils. The construction results indicate that these all three methods can be applied with a fairly simply quality control.
