Abstract: This paper briefly introduces the partial coefficient method based on probability theory inEurocode 7: Geotechnical design-part 1:General rules, this method has three different design methods for different situations. In addition, this paper provides a comparative analysis on the formula of bearing capacity of foundation in Code for Design of Building Foundations (GB50007-2011), Hubei Technical Code for Building foundations (DB42/242-2014) and Eurocode 7.The formula for calculating the bearing capacity of national standard is based on the formula of P1/4 of “elasticplastic method”, Hubei local standard and European standard is based on the formula of “rigidplastic method”.The essential difference between the bearing capacity formula of Hubei local standard and that of the European standard lies in the total coefficient method adopted by Hubei local standard, while the partial coefficient method is adopted in the European standard. A numerical example is given to calculate the bearing capacity and acting force of the foundation according to the three codes, and the differences are compared. In order to learn foreign norms in foreignrelated projects to play a role in attracting new ideas.
