A Rapid Detection System for the Integrity of Cut-off Wall in Levees

Abstract: The cut-off wall in levees play an important role in resisting floods and protecting the safety of human been and properties. A high-density surface wave method for the rapid detection of the integrity of the cutoff wall in levees is developed. The principles of the high-density surface wave method, integrity testing methods and data collections are first introduced. To improve the efficiency of the detection work, the vehicle mounted device with automatic triggering and automatic data collection systems. This device was tested and verified at various project locations. The results indicate that this method is an efficient integrity test system and is three to four times as fast as the conventional integrity testing devices.
