Abstract: Compared with structures that above the ground, the underground structures have a better seismic resistance. However, in recent years, it was proved that, under the seismic conditions, tunnel structures in karst geological conditions might still potentially have serious damage. Further, the degree of earthquake induced damage might also vary with the topography adjacent to the tunnel structure. The seismic response of a tunnel in karst terrain in Fujian was numerically simulated by using the twodimensional finite element analysis using a commercial software ABAQUS. The response of tunnels under seismic conditions with different slope conditions are evaluated and the stresses displacements are monitoring points are presented.
