Abstract: The low stress reflection method is usually used in the preliminary screening of the integrity of the castinplace reinforced concrete piles, whereas, the sonic transmission method is generally used to locate the detailed defect within the concrete piles. The nondestructive testing methods results can be verified by using borehole coring and static load tests methods. The proper use of low stress reflection, sonic transmission, borehole coring and static methods in the quality assurance of the castinpace reinforced concrete piles can quickly and cost effectively locate the defects and their effect on the loading carrying capacities.
