Abstract: One of the biggest challenges of large projects over soft mucky soils is the soil improvement to meet the post construction performance and safety requirements. Many soil improvement methods are available to strengthen the soft mucky soil strata with various advantages and disadvantages. This paper presents a case history of the soil improvements of the supporting structure foundations for the castinplace box girders using different methods. Throughout the settlement monitoring at different soil depths after the treatment, different soil improvement methods are evaluated.
