Abstract: The construction of the Pakistan NeelumJhelum (NJ) Hydropower Plant, which is in the northwest side of Himalaya Mountains, is primarily depend on the underground tunnel excavation in poor and complicated geological conditions and high overburden geopressures. Based on the construction of opentype TBM trail excavation at the headrace tunnel, the surrounding rock mass classification in opentype TBM tunnel was summarized, then the initial supporting parameters under the different surrounding rock mass conditions and technical measures of construction in the fracture zone have been determined.
